Rick graduated from Brandeis University in 1991. He was a four year varsity baseball letter winner, two time Greater Boston League all-star, and a team captain his senior year. Rick also played and coached in the semi-professional Intercity Amateur Baseball League from 1994-2001. He was a league all-star and proud member of seven championship teams. In 2014 Rick was inducted into the Intercity League Hall of Fame.

Prior to a career change in 2022, Rick spent 7 years as the Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach at Thayer. Prior to moving to Thayer, Rick was at the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School (BB&N) where he was a member of the Athletic Department for 25 years. He coached football, hockey and was the varsity baseball coach for 19 years. He served as the Athletic Director for 12 years.

Thayer and BB&N are proud members of the prestigious Independent School League (ISL). Coach Foresteire guided BB&N to 19 consecutive winning seasons and 6 ISL Championships. Since 1997 the program compiled a phenomenal 214-67-0 league and 329-106-3 overall record. In his time at Thayer the team has a 46-29 league and 66-42-1 overall record. Rick captured his 24th consecutive winning season in ISL play. He earned his 350th career victory v Worcester Academy on April 28th, 2017. Rick’s current overall coaching record is 395-148-4 and he was inducted into the Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2019.

Rick has coached three MLB draft picks and four former professionals, plus his
players have played all over the country at the collegiate level including; Vanderbilt, Harvard, Dartmouth, Yale, Georgetown, Penn State, Boston College, William & Mary, Holy Cross, Bucknell, Lafayette, University of Connecticut, Northeastern, Hartford, Miami of Ohio, Florida Gulf Coast, Bentley, Stonehill, Wheaton, Trinity, Colby, Brandeis, Tufts, Bowdoin, Wesleyan, Amherst, Williams, Babson, Bates, Skidmore, Union, Roger Williams, St. Anselm’s, Vassar, Loyola University New Orleans, Nichols, Mass Maritime, University of Maine, and Endicott.

Rick is originally from Melrose, MA and currently resides in Plymouth, MA with his daughter Grace and son James.
